Mr. Bucklin was born on August 19, 1879. He worked with a Maine Central Railroad crew in the construction of the steel bridge across the Georges River at Thomaston, and later, in Boston, attended the New England School of Engineering.

This gained him employment as stationary engineer with electric light plants in Massachusetts and Vermont. Returning to Warren, seven years ago, he was appointed deputy sheriff by Sheriff A.J. Tolman, continuing in that position until Mr. Tolman's retirement, with the exception of brief service on the prison staff.

Sheriff Tolman considered him one of the ablest deputies the county ever had.

Mr. Bucklin was educated in Farmington Normal School and a Rockland business college. He has served the town of Warren as assessor and member of the School Board. He belongs to the Warren Lodge of Odd Fellows and a Masonic lodge in Vermont. He is married.

Retired Family Laundry Maintenance Man Was Long Active With Middlesex Lodge of Odd Fellows and Encampment

Archie Gamble Bucklin, a past grand of Middlesex lodge #17, Odd Fellows, and a past chief patriarch of Middlesex Encampment, passed away at a Rockland Ave convalescent home where he had resided for some time. He was 70 years of age and formerly resided for years at 17 Washington St.

Son of the late Joseph and Eliza Bucklin, he was born in Warren, Me, and came to Malden 27 years ago. He was a maintenance man for the Family Laundry for a long period until his retirement.

The deceased was a member of the First Baptist church, the pastor of which, Rev Hillyer H Straton, will officiate at the funeral services Thursday afternoon at two at the Ward funeral home. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn, Peabody.

His wife was the late Mrs Edith (Cross) Bucklin. He leaves a son, Wm Bucklin of Lynnfield Centre, and a daughter, Miss Dorothy Bucklin of New York City; a brother Joseph, of Portland, Me; and two grandchildren, Warner and Wm Bucklin Jr.

He is buried in Section I, lot number 145[Mit10107B.FTW]

Bucklin, engineer in the State hospital at Tewksbury, Mass. The parlors were profusely decorated with white clematis and asters and the happy couple stood under a wedding bell of white asters. The bride was handsomely gowned in white albatross with Brazilian point lace and ribbon trimmings, and the ceremony - ring service - was performed by the Rev. W. A. Newcomb. Only members of the two families and intimate friends were present. A reception took place after the marriage and many useful and valuable gifts were received. Mr. and Mrs. Bucklin will reside in Tewksbury, Mass.

The parlor, in which the ceremony took place, was tastily decorated in white and green, the contracting parties being united beneath an arch of these colors. The bride was prettily gowned in white, with trimming of Brazilian point lace and white ribbon. Following the ceremony refreshments were served and congratulations extended. Many valuable presents were received, consisting of silverware, china, cut glass, money, etc. The bride is a fine young lady, a member of the Baptist church and the B.Y.P.U. The groom is an industrious and upright young man and a member of the Methodist church. There are a number of Barak Bucklins born in about the same time and about the same place. Several are repported to have been buried in Newman Cemetary in Pawtucket, RI. There is confusion among the reporters caused by this number of Baraks.
